Why do I do the things I do? How to manage your Brain to achieve a Happier and more Productive life

By Dr. Dennis Maness, HealthWalkMindSoul Division

Why didn’t he ask for directions?

I can’t believe I just did that!

I was supposed to call Jane at 2:00 PM - It’s now 4:00 and I… … …

Why do I do the things I do? I really want to do the right thing; I just don’t. Why? Am I losing my mind, my memory or is it I am getting to where I just don’t care?

Even though we don’t always think about it, all these responses start with the brain. Our brain is the operations center for our functionality; and it is a major contributor to who we are, who we are going to be and the memories of who we were.

Is it the brain that makes us do the things we do? Consider that the brain is an organ that stores and processes information. It is what we do with that information that makes us who we are and that drives us to what we do.

We learn to control our brain by doing; just as an infant will learn by doing -sucking, crawling, climbing, spinning, cooing, talking, reading, walking and developing relationships with parents, siblings and their community. In other words we teach the infant to gather information then manage that information by training their brain to do these new behaviors. We teach ourselves and those we are responsible for to gather information and manage that information by training their brain to perform these new behaviors.

One can have the highest IQ in the world and fail third grade. One can have the largest brain in the world and still be unable to read a high school diploma. So where is the intelligence factor and “Why Do I Do The Things I Do?”

Behavior is not what you know but what you do with what you know.

Let’s start by looking at the brain:

The brain is biological and neurological. It has neurons, glial cells, dendrites, axons protected by myelin sheathing that together provide the biological mechanism. The mind is your content management system.

We all desire to do the right things; i.e.: get better grades, better performance, greater productivity, to be a good friend, to have greater relationships, to be a success, to be a better husband, wife, child etc., but sometimes life gets in the way.

There are times we feel out of sorts. We say or do things we would never in a million years think of doing and then – BAM – it happens. We blow up and say things or do things that are beyond our character.

Most of these blow-ups are caused by lack of managing the brain. One report shows 80% of these blow ups can be traced to stress. Remove the stress and you remove many of the uncontrollable challenges. How you offload stress determines why you do the things you do.

  • Some stressors can be managed by organization. If someone close to you is causing the stress, you can involve them in helping you find resolution.
  • If it is something you have no control over such as the economy, some of the stress can be avoided by making budget adjustments or lifestyle changes to help you adjust to the present economic climate.
  • If this fails, seek assistance in helping you adjust and manage. At HealthWalk we understand that we are all subject to immense stress in today’s world. We offer the modalities and supplements to support you to get back into balance and to be able to deal gracefully with all the stressors in your life. We have the technologies and expertise to analyze all your system’s conditions – from your adrenal and hormonal patterns, your blood based biomarkers and very importantly, your brain frequencies. We then offer you the suggestions and solutions to help you regain equilibrium improve your health and functioning.

When you feel a stressor (e.g. an irritation, a thoughtless remark, an urgent matter that is pressuring you etc.) about to strike, capture it. Recognize and take control of it before it has the opportunity to manifest itself as muscle tension in the neck, stomach, back or as a headache. Stop, take a breath and see what the real issue is and work from there, take a moment to respond, don’t react immediately. If you have already jumped into reaction, allow that to be ok, breathe again and see how you can move forward so that you are going to improve the situation instead of escalating the circumstances. Then, you can start managing your brain and emotions. You will be able to coordinate the behavior and actions of your brain. Just as an orchestra has a conductor, your brain has a conductor – you.

With MindSoul Brain Technologies, I help people bring their brain frequencies back into balance. When the brain frequencies are out of sync, a person can become frustrated easily. This frustration can lead to anger and/or confusion which can lead to acting out. After mapping the client’s brain I apply customized neuro-sound therapy to harmonize the person’s brain frequencies; very soon the person is feeling better, more alert and often even exhilarated. From there, we work together so that the client learns and knows how to capture the stressor before it has the opportunity to manifest in their body and also how to manage the unwanted reaction.

We then with Vital Hematology live blood analysis, functional nutritional analysis and other HealthWalk modalities, we help the person with a better diet and exercise regimen, clean up their blood of toxins and neuro-chemicals that hinder and generate undesirable reactions and behavior. With MindSoul Brain Technologies we work with you to entraining your brain,so you are able to manage your reactions to tough situations, feel good, happy and be productive.

Call HealthWalk today, we look forward to working with you on your path to greater balance and vibrant health.
