How Do I Improve My Energy and Health?

Why do some people enjoy a good night’s rest and a full energetic day while others struggle to sleep well and strain to make it through a stressful day without fatigue taking over? When fatigued, the mind is sluggish in decision-making, thoughts are often confusing and irritability dominates emotional responses. No matter the season, we all wish to be productive and fatigue can definitely hinder productivity. Summer is supposed to be a nourishing and stress-free time, but imagine ending the summer without having had the strength to participate in fun outdoor activities due to excess fatigue?
At this time, we are all watching amazing Olympic performances. How do these athletes achieve the balance of tremendous energy output and recovery? Although most of us are not Olympic athletes, how do we recover from changes associated with the aging process that lead to fatigue and what influences these changes? In this article, I will discuss how our body’s Ph balance can affect our fatigue level and overall well-being. The Ph concept is a measure of the acidity of a solution in terms of its hydrogen ion activity. Ph stands for “potential hydrogen” and it is the scale that represents whether something is acidic or alkaline. The more hydrogen present (acidic) correlates with less oxygen and the reverse is also true. A more alkaline balance means more oxygen is in the blood which is a key factor in the healthy maintenance of your body’s vital functions.
Pure water has a Ph of 7.0, directly in the middle of the Ph scale. Above 7 is considered more alkaline and below 7 is more acidic. Healthwalk’s Hydromag™ line of magnetic water treatment products including table top pads, coasters, cup holders and water cooler strips are convenient and inexpensive ways to ensure you are drinking water/liquids which will facilitate your blood’s ability to become more alkaline. The hydromag™ decreases the surface tension of the water/liquid, aligns the water molecules and restores it to its natural state. Water in its natural state supports the increase in your blood’s available oxygen and thus improving the function of your body and thereby reducing fatigue.
What about food? How does what you eat affect your Ph balance? In Christopher Vasey’s, N.D. book, “The Acid-Alkaline Diet,” he details information and charts about which foods are acidic-forming and alkaline-forming. Logically, we think of lemons as being very acidic, but in actuality, when digested and absorbed in the digestive tract they become alkaline-forming. In contrast, oatmeal and soybeans are acidic-forming in the body. These surprising food facts show the difference between the Ph level of the food and how it is broken down in the body and the residue it leaves behind after it is digested.
A diet lacking or low in essential vitamins and minerals and high in acid forming foods (meats, dairy, soda, coffee, processed and microwaved foods) will show up in the resultant highly acidic urine. This is a good indicator that your body may be having difficulty maintaining an optimal digestive environment which can contribute to systemic inflammation and leads to fatigue. Inflammation can also be the root cause of many chronic health problems including heart disease, obesity, and a steady rise of the inflammatory blood acid homocysteine.
If you have had viruses, reoccurring candida, lack of energy and frequent bacterial infections then you probably have an acidic internal environment. When the body is more acidic, you may also experience acid reflux, gastritis, ulcers, tendency to diarrhea and/or constipation, skin problems and arthritis to name a few other issues.
Many research publications have proven that diseases cannot survive in an alkaline rich, oxygenated internal environment. More alkaline forming foods, like organic fruits and vegetables, can play a large role in influencing the digestive tract balance, normal intestinal flora, immune system function, endurance and ultimately our energy level. Our mood will shift happily as well!
Here at Healthwalk we can guide you back to an alkaline Ph balance and ultimately increased energy, health and vitality. Our nutritionist utilizes functional endocrinology technology to analyze your body to provide customized delicious and suitable foods, recipes and greens drinks to get you back on track to a healthy, alkaline food intake.
A Galvanic Skin Response, GSR, session will reveal the natural anti-inflammatories, supplements, and homeopathics to help balance the digestive and emotional environment. GSR will also determine a personalized food guide regarding food sensitivities so you know which foods you need to take a break from and which foods to incorporate into your diet.
A client came into Healthwalk with an acne-related skin condition and a history of frequent colds and flu’s over the past two years. After GSR analysis, she began a program of homeopathic liquid Drainage Complex by Apex Energetics, a Bach flower remedy Crabapple, a digestive enzyme, HealthWalk’s BioNue™ a probiotic, a liquid vitamin/mineral, and hydromag™ treated water. She avoided gluten and dairy in her diet and she attended HealthWalk’s nutrition class on alkaline smoothies. After two months, she returned for a check up with a smile on her face and gleaming, beautifully clear skin. Today, she happily continues to maintain the Ph balance her body needs for energy, vibrant health and beautiful skin by eating alkaline forming foods, drinking hydromag treated water and taking BioNue daily.
