The topic of nutrition is one of incredible breadth and depth. In today’s world, the information out there is more confusing than ever. Here at HealthWalk we will help you sift through the rubble of years of nutrition myth. With science based research and guidelines, our programs include proven methods of providing the body with health promoting nutritional options.
Guiding clients toward lifestyle changes that have beneficial effects on their health is a key service for HealthWalk. A natural whole food approach to eating is a foundational pillar for enhancing quality of life.
Overall health is balanced through the interwoven channels of body, mind and spirit. This is why looking at the whole person and their lifestyle is important, not just the symptoms.
Our intent is to educate you on how to make sound nutritional choices, provide tools that will assist you in reaching your goals and support you on your journey toward improved health. A comprehensive picture of your diet direction and eating habits is obtained by using a Nutritional Evaluation.
A Nutritional Evaluation includes a confidential client interview that consists of:
- Review of dietary habits and supplement use,
- Assessment of metabolic function through questionnaire,
- Measurement of body composition, and
- Development of an Individualized Plan of Action that focuses on supporting the body at the cellular level as well as your overall health picture.
The body inherently strives for homeostasis or the maintenance of the internal environment within tolerable limit—“the balance within.” When we can no longer find that balance at this internal level, we may begin to have symptoms telling us that something is not quite right. It is possible to enter a state of “dis-ease” or imbalance.
Important areas of focus are:
- Efficient Digestion & Absorption (vitamin/mineral, enzyme, microbiological etc.)
- Balanced Metabolism (energy, hormonal, blood sugar, etc.)
- Control of Inflammation
- Proper Detoxification & Body Cleansing (waste removal)
- Prevention of Oxidative Damage (free radical stress & increased aging)
Everyone has a unique biochemical make up. Based on your evaluation and health concerns, a Nutritional Plan of Action is customized for your individual needs and goals. Each area of importance is taken into consideration to restore the health and vitality that you were meant to enjoy.
Our emphasis is in being community oriented and educating people about healthy dietary choices including whole foods and local sustainable options. We offer individual or group counseling sessions, lectures, classes and workshops on the variety of topics related to nutrition and how it is exceptionally supportive and healing to the body.
Nutrition is an essential part of a healthy lifestyle, whether you are looking to generally improve your health or have a diagnosed illness.
